Who are your main non-banjo playing musical influences and non musical influences? (love your playing and songwriting btw)
well, i really like charles ives. and the serial composers, shoenberg etc, metal, avant garde, and the noise guys and the drone guys. lamont young. non-musical, though musical in a different sense would be william blake, meher baba, sant kirpal singh/sant baljit singh, rudolf steiner's philosophy of freedom, the first rosicrucian manifesto, the first 18 verses of the book of john, jung's book synchronicity, the bau hays, stuff like that.
Is there a recording that strikes you as a truly wonderful cover or interpretation? For me: Bill Frisell's "One of These Days" (N Young) or Cassandra Wilson's "Skylark" come to mind. Just curious.Danny Barnes responded on 05/06/2013 Next question
Have you experimented with different banjo tunings? If so, could share some that you thought were coolDanny Barnes responded on 05/14/2013
