i got the frank bradbury books like you said, and noticed the low D gets tuned down to a C. is this the way to tune it for reading notation in general, then tune it back up for just playing? or do you tune it down for the method book, then after learning that, relearn how to read in the standard tuning? what do you do?
don't worry about this. you will need to learn both settings, and the music is clearly marked. just do it in order and you'll see what i mean. just like in baseball, the pathway to the next base is clearly marked when you get there, it's cool. you are doing a good thing learning from that back. he tells you exactly what to do.
do you have some favorite venues in southern california? i would like to send out a few emails to clubs asking them to please get you to play down here.Danny Barnes responded on 03/25/2014 Next question
